Description: Regulatory Consulting is by far the best way to serve the multiple facets of the regulatory profession and can be highly rewarding in terms of personal and professional growth. This interactive discussion will aim to address one of the most important (and confusing) components of consulting agreements: conflicts of interest. When first striking out as business owners, many consultants do not know how to negotiate consulting contracts and strike a deal. However, companies are eager to enter into consulting agreements with you because of your expertise and reputation! You have the leverage of much-needed experience and expertise! New consultants may be swayed to accept less than optimal language in their consulting agreements. Currently practicing regulatory consultants will share their perspectives and practical experiences on different approaches used in addressing conflict of interest language in agreements so that you can collaborate effectively with your potential new client while protecting our consulting business and maintaining the freedom to operate. Specific and real-world examples encountered by consultants regarding contractual conflicts of interest will be shared, such as working for competing clients, and managing working hours. Session participants are encouraged to bring their questions and/or experiences to the session. All regulatory professionals currently consulting or pursuing consulting as a career are encouraged to attend what will undoubtedly be an engaging and thought-provoking session!
