Community Liver Alliance
Suzanna Masartis is the Chief Executive Officer of the Community Liver Alliance and a nationally recognized advocate for patient-centered research and policy.
With 30+ years in nonprofit health leadership, she forges partnerships across academia, industry, and government to expand access to liver-disease clinical trials and reduce participation barriers for rural and other underrepresented communities. She led the “Breaking Barriers: Enhancing Clinical Trial Access” community conversation at the AASLD Liver Meeting, capturing insights through structured post-program surveys to inform researchers and sponsors.
Suzanna is equally active in FDA engagement. She developed practical “FDA Advisory Committee 101” education to help patients and caregivers prepare high-impact testimony, co-convened an FDA listening session with GLI to elevate urgent liver-health needs, and mobilized patient advocates for Open Public Hearing testimony in PBC. She has also authored correspondence to FDA leadership reflecting real-world patient input on benefit–risk and labeling considerations.
Suzanna leads by elevating patients and aligning the people and resources to meet tomorrow’s needs.
