Jethro E. Ekuta, DVM, PhD, EMBA, RAC, FRAPS

Dr. Jethro Ekuta is a seasoned leader with over 23 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Research & Development. He is currently the Chief Regulatory & Safety Officer at Ascendis Pharma, and an Executive Advisor for Network Partners Group (NPG) and BP Logix.

Before he joined industry, Dr. Ekuta was Staff Fellow in Clinical Pharmacology, Office of Clinical Pharmacology, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Prior to that, he was the recipient of a National Research Service Award (NRSA) from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for post-doctoral training in Neuro- and Cardiovascular Pharmacology, at Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in, Nashville, TN.

Dr. Ekuta holds the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) and he received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Mississippi, and his Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology. He is certified in Regulatory Affairs (RAC) and a Fellow of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (FRAPS).

Dr. Ekuta has served in several leadership roles within the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), including chair, Examination Committee for the Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) Global Examination; member, Regulatory Affairs Certification Board (RACB); chair, RAPS Fellows Selections Committee; mentor, RAPS Mentoring Program; and author and reviewer of books for RAPS. He has also served as President of the RAPS Affiliate Board. Currently, he is a member of the RAPS Board of Directors where he serves as Board Chair.
