EMA liaison official to the US FDA
European Medicines Agency
Corinne de Vries is the EMA liaison official to the US FDA. In this role, she is responsible for the support and development of the scientific and regulatory collaboration between the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in the context of the Confidentiality Arrangements and EMA’s other multilateral initiatives. Corinne is a pharmacist and an epidemiologist (MSc, PhD) and has an MA in medical ethics and law. She gained 20 years’ research experience in academia, becoming Professor of Pharmacoepidemiology in 2008, before making the move to the regulatory environment. Before her current role at EMA she was Head of Translational Sciences, and before that, Head of Risk Management and Head of Science & Innovation Support. Throughout her career, she has worked in multinational and multicultural environments, acquired scientific and regulatory expertise, communication, education and presentation skills, as well as a thorough understanding of project and budget management. She is a member and Fellow of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology with previous roles as Board member, VP Finance, and various committees.
