VP of Analytics and Machine Learning
Beacon Biosignals
Alexander Chan has spent his career at the intersection of health and computation, building technology for improving lives. He is currently VP of Analytics and Machine Learning at Beacon Biosignals, enabling the robust, objective, and reproducible computation of neurobiomarkers to accelerate therapy development for patients with sleep, neurologic, and psychiatric disease. At Beacon, he led the successful FDA authorization of the first two Predetermined Change Control Plans for AI-enabled sleep devices. Alex previously led the Health Technologies algorithm team at Apple that delivered sleep tracking and apnea screening on the Apple Watch, built the machine learning models and signal processing powering the Beddit sleep monitor, and pioneered novel algorithms for next-generation sensing. Alex received his PhD in computational neuroscience in the Medical Engineering and Medical Physics program at the Harvard/MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.
