Andrea Laslop studied medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria, where she started her career by becoming a professor of pharmacology and toxicology. After that, she worked as a regulator at the Austrian Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, heading the Scientific Office. Her main focus was on centralised European procedures for drug development, marketing authorization and life-cycle management, as a member of the EMA Scientific Advice Working Party from 2003 - 2024 and as Austrian delegate in the EMA’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use from 2007 - 2022. Since her retirement in 2025, she is conducting regulatory evaluations for the Malta Medicines Authority.
